Background & Experience
Duane H. Lund is the Chief Executive Officer of NAI Legacy and a thirty-year veteran of the real estate industry. He also serves as President of Exchange Realty Inc., a private investment firm focused on the acquisition and ownership of commercial real estate assets. Through affiliated entities, Exchange Realty holds positions in a diverse portfolio that includes industrial, medical office, retail, mini-storage, and development land.
Prior to founding Exchange Realty Inc., Duane played key roles in the formation and growth of several private and public real estate companies, including Stonehaven Realty Trust, First Industrial Realty Trust, and RESoft Inc. He has over a decade of direct experience within multiple public REITs, serving as the largest UPREIT partner in Stonehaven Realty Trust (AMEX: RPP), a founding UPREIT partner and Senior Regional Director for First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE: FR), and an UPREIT partner in Investors Real Estate Trust (NYSE: IRET). Earlier in his career, he was a Partner with The Shidler Group and began his professional path as a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick.
Duane has been a keynote speaker at industry events nationwide, providing expertise on capital market structures, 1031 exchange strategies, REIT operations, and real estate acquisition and disposition strategies.
